Fundacja Integracja and REDD form an alliance for inclusivity in commercial real estate

08.10.2024 Press

Fundacja Integracja, one of the most important organizations in Poland working for people with disabilities, and REDD – the largest information platform for commercial real estate professionals in the CEE region, announce the launch of a strategic partnership. The goal of the collaboration is to promote the idea of inclusivity and raise awareness about the importance of accessibility in office buildings.

  • 2.75% — that is the percentage of buildings in Poland that have received the ‘Building Without Barriers’ certificate.

This figure clearly highlights the need for actions to promote inclusivity in the industry. Especially considering that the ‘Building Without Barriers’ certificate’ for commercial properties has been awarded for 10 years, and the scope of the audit preceding the issuance of the certificate includes, among other things: the immediate surroundings of the building, parking spaces, entrances to the building, vertical communication accessibility, building color schemes, accessibility of essential rooms in the building (such as restrooms), as well as equipment, lighting, and electrical installation parameters.

REDD, on the other hand, is the first commercial real estate data provider in the CEE region, monitoring 6,500 office and warehouse buildings in five countries. Thanks to advanced technological products, REDD provides key information to investment funds, asset managers, advisors, and real estate agents.

Both organizations bring a new standard to the commercial real estate market. REDD revolutionizes access to real estate data, previously reserved exclusively for agents, while Fundacja Integracja reshapes how architecture, buildings, and office spaces are perceived, placing people and their needs at the forefront. It also educates the commercial real estate market that people differ, and their individual needs may stem from physical abilities, health conditions, experiences, and many other factors. As part of the collaboration, Fundacja Integracja will provide REDD with data on certified buildings, allowing REDD platform users to easily filter properties based on accessibility.

What will the partnership collaboration entail?

  1. The REDD Group has introduced updates to its platform. Starting now, users can check which office properties have been awarded the ‘Building Without Barriers’ certificate (each building has a special section for certificates on its profile). They can also filter properties by certificates, including the ‘Building Without Barriers’ certificate.
  2. Additionally, the REDD Group has published a publicly accessible list of office buildings with the ‘Building Without Barriers’ certificate on the finne.pl website.
  3. REDD’s reports, which regularly summarize the office and warehouse real estate markets, will be expanded to include a separate information segment on this topic.
  4. Both organizations will also create a series of free educational webinars. The first event is planned for November.

“Collaboration with REDD is a step towards transforming the commercial real estate market in Poland and the region. We believe that by joining forces, we can raise accessibility standards and overall awareness on this topic. People with disabilities are fully capable employees. Inaccessible office spaces not only exclude them from the job market but are also a huge loss for potential employers. As a foundation, we are very committed to making the business world understand this narrative,” said Jarosław Bogucki from the Integracja Foundation.

“Together with the Integracja Foundation, we want to show how important building certification is in terms of accessibility and how much it impacts the comfort and safety of all users. In Poland, awareness of what an inclusive building or office really means is still insufficient. Therefore, the more actions taken in this area, the sooner we will observe tangible results. We believe that our collaboration will contribute to real changes in the real estate market because we are not only adding an educational element to the platform used daily by hundreds of professionals, but we are also equipping them with tools they can use in their work. Together with the Foundation, by putting people first, we are introducing a new standard in the commercial real estate market,” added Edyta Kowal, CMO at REDD Group.
